WHO ARE WE?
THE RENEWER BUDDHIST-HINDUIST SOCIETY is an esoteric, religious and fraternal institution, without economic aims, and whose general objective is the diffusion of the hinduist and buddhist teachings, and whose specific aims are:
1) spreading the hinduist teachings, emphasizing the Advaita-Vedanta ones;
2) spreading the fundamental teachings of Buddhism;
3) spreading the teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.
SOBUHIR mission consists in promoting fraternal relationship between the Buddhist and Hinduist traditions, having as binding the teachings of the Guru Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi, who, when living in this planet, was recognized as spiritual master by followers of both Buddhism and Hinduism, and others.
SOBUHIR uses the Books and traditional Texts of Buddhism and Hinduism, but also has got material of its own, produced during years of hard spiritual work done by its founders and directors. SOBUHIR shows, this way, its eclecticism, and pragmatism in the field of the Hinduist and Buddhist initiations. Although SOBUHIR be directly compromissed with the Buddhist and Hinduist teachings, it uses also the teachings of other Traditions such as Christianity, Qbalah and Taoism, but mantaining its general and specific objectives. This SOBUHIR posture is due to the all-embracing, ecumenism and fraternal spirit of his directors who recognize the value and importance of the esoteric knowledge that is present in all Religious Traditions. Based on these concepts, SOBUHIR does not accept any social, racial or religious prejudice, sectarianism and fanaticism, and is open to all persons, be a religious or not religious one. SOBUHIR accepts as members people linked to any religion, and also the ones that does not follow any creed, but do seek for self-knowledge.
SOBUHIR is engaged in promoting the understand between the Hinduist and Buddhist organization in Brazil and all over the world, based on the historic and spiritual features of their teachings.
